The skin needs protection from damaging UV radiation - not only on a summer holiday on the beach, but also in everyday life when cycling, jogging or on the balcony. Sun creams, lotions or sprays with a high or very high sun protection factor (SPF 30, 50 or 50+) are also advisable in our latitudes.
Stiftung Warentest tested 20 sunscreens. Only ten of them are good or even very good and therefore reliable companions on sunny days, including some inexpensive brands from drugstores or discounters. However, we deducted points from four UV protection products because we detected a critical plasticiser in them. And six products are inadequate because they do not offer the promised UV protection. In our sun cream test, we tell you which products will get you safely through the summer!
