Test Report

Smartphones in comparison

The Galaxy A53 is an excellent mid-range smartphone with a great display, long battery life and a good everyday camera. Thanks to 5G, a waterproof casing and the new update guarantee, it also promises longevity. However, the lack of a jack is a nuisance, at least for some. The new processor is a disappointment for everyone: with it, the operating speed is sometimes even lower than with the LTE version of the predecessor A52. Is Samsung afraid that the A series will come too close to the expensive S series? In the end, the A53 loses out to an old acquaintance: the Galaxy A52s 5G. It is faster, almost as good in terms of camera and battery, and cheaper. And it comes with a jack on top.
