Product details

Wirewin UTP patch cables are characterized by their high quality and are suitable for Gigabit connections with operating frequencies of up to 250 MHz. Applications for Category 6 cables include voice, multimedia, and data transmission, as well as ATM networks. The wires are made of 100% copper, unshielded, and the cable features bend protection. The sheath is made from halogen-free materials and is highly flame-resistant.

The UTP cable consists of a plastic sheath that contains the unshielded, twisted pairs of wires. Due to the lack of shielding, UTP cables have a small outer diameter, making them easy to handle and install. The bend protection sleeves, designed to be particularly narrow, allow for comfortable cabling even with larger switches that have 48 ports or more.

Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases is thus excluded, and smoke generation is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant, and there is no dangerous ignition cord effect.

These are the most widely used cables for Ethernet LANs worldwide. Cat 6 cables are designed for operating frequencies of up to 250 MHz and are often used in professional settings. At longer lengths, transmission speed may suffer, but short excess lengths are generally unproblematic depending on external influences. Application areas for Cat 6 include voice and data transmission, as well as multimedia and ATM networks.
