Product details

Cat 6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz. They are used for signal transmission at high data rates (1Gbps). Due to the high signal frequencies, special care must be taken during
installation and assembly, especially at the connection points of the cores. The individual pairs of wires in Cat 6 are twisted differently closely, so that the susceptibility to interference is reduced even more than in Cat 5e. Application areas for Cat-6 cables are voice and data transmission as well as multimedia and ATM networks. Even more powerful are Cat 6e (500 MHz) and Cat 6a (625 MHz) cables. Slimpatch cables offer a great advantage when cabling racks and 48-port switches. Due to the extremely thin processing and the great flexibility, you avoid messing up the cables and thus keep the overview. The Wirewin Cat 6 Slimpatch cable has a flexible and wide jack protection as well as a length imprint on both ends. So you finally have a little order in your distribution cabinets again. They are the optimal solution to connect IP phones to your network. Due to their short grommet and flexibility, these cables are ideally suited for this application. Despite the extremely thin design, Power over Ethernet supply of the IP telephones is also possible via these cables. In addition, the cables are no longer flat as usual - they now have a round shape.

The AWG (American Wire Gauge) system is based on the manufacturing process of wires and expresses the conductor strength of the copper wire. AWG36 = 0.0127 mm² conductor cross-section. The measurements were performed using a 2 meter slim patch cable to a patch panel, from the patch panel to a 70 meter Cat 7 SSTP installation cable to another patch panel and from there to a 2 meter long slim patch cable. The results can be found in the PDFs for the Cat 6 and Cat 6A measurements. Cat 6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz and are often used in professional applications. With larger lengths, the transmission speed suffers, but small excess lengths are harmless depending on external influences. Application fields for Cat 6 are voice and data transmission as well as multimedia and ATM networks.
