An epic dark fantasy world where the fate of the land is determined by the powerful Eikons and the Dominants who wield them.
This is the story of Clive Rosfield, a warrior bestowed with the title "First Shield of Rosaria," who has sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix. Soon, Clive becomes embroiled in a great tragedy and vows revenge against the dark Eikon Ifrit, a mysterious being that brings calamity upon him.
The sun sets over the land of Valisthea. For centuries, people have flocked to their Mothercrystals to partake in their blessing—the rich ether that nourishes the magic they rely on in their daily lives. However, as the ether begins to dwindle and the lifeless Deadlands continue to spread, the struggle for the last flickers of the Mothers' light grows ever more fierce. Bloody battles rage across the realm, and rival nations unleash their ultimate weapons against one another: the Dominants. Men and women who harbor the world-shaking power of an Eikon.
Few in Valisthea remain untouched by this war for the blessing of the crystals, and Clive Rosfield, the firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria, is no exception. Unlike most others, however, the twists of fate reveal to him the dark truth that lies at the heart of his world, leading him on a mission to destroy the very Mothercrystals that are sacred to the rest of the realm.
The legacy of the crystals has shaped the fate of humanity for long enough.
