Product details
The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is a compact and lightweight camera that allows you to easily capture professional-quality images. Its size makes it the perfect travel companion, no matter where you go. The powerful 5-axis image stabilizer makes this camera an ideal tool for capturing every moment in excellent quality. The tilting LCD screen is perfect for taking selfies, and the precise electronic viewfinder gives users the freedom to enjoy their unique shooting style.
The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is equipped with a Live MOS 20-megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor. Its sensitivity extends up to ISO 25600, and the effective five-axis image stabilization makes handheld shooting easier. The E-M10 Mark IV features improved autofocus compared to its predecessor. The face priority AF and eye detection AF now focus on both directly facing and downward-tilted faces. Ease of use is further enhanced by the swivel touchscreen, as well as the high-quality electronic viewfinder, from which you can monitor settings in real time, enabling detailed control over your camera and maximizing your photography experience. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in the camera body allow for easy importing of photos and videos to your smartphone or sharing on social media via the OI.Share app. The connected smartphone can also be used for remote shooting via Bluetooth if desired. The app includes the camera's instructions and guidance videos for learning shooting methods and techniques.
The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is also an excellent video camera. It features high-quality autofocus that locks onto subjects very well, perhaps the best image stabilizer on the market, and a forward-facing screen. The camera naturally records 4K video, making it an excellent tool for vloggers who want to take it along in their daily lives.
A wide range of lenses is available for the Micro Four Thirds mount, covering various shooting situations.

"The OM System company recently emerged from the Olympus camera division. This does not change anything for users, cameras and accessories continue to come from a single source and are compatible with the devices still developed by Olympus. Like Panasonic, OM System relies on the "Micro Four Thirds" standard (MFT)...

With the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV, photographers can get into high-quality Micro Four Thirds photography at a good price. You get a good sensor, Olympus-typical special features and fast and solid technology. Photographers will have to dig deeper into their pockets for more and more up-to-date refinements than in the E-M10 Mark IV from 2020...
- Simple operation
- many controls
- Compact and lightweight
- Moderate focus tracking with series
- GPS location via app awkward
The OM-D E-M10IV is a great camera for beginners: it is very compact and pleasantly light and scores with high photo quality, a top image stabiliser and more controls than usual in this price range - so camera settings can be adjusted without menu detours. When filming, the sound quality of the built-in microphone is poor and there is no connection for an external microphone.
The Olympus E-M10IV can improve in RAW format and performs similarly to the other current Olympus models with a 20 MP sensor. We already see a positive effect at ISO 100, but the camera still degrades considerably at high ISO levels in RAW format. In terms of image quality, the E-M10 IV cannot challenge the competition.

- The camera is a small and lightweight travel companion that nevertheless offers the versatile application possibilities of a system camera. This also includes extensive video functions.
- Unfortunately, the monitor can only be folded up and down. When using the tripod, the selfie or vlogger position is therefore partially covered by the tripod head. The resolution of the viewfinder could be higher.
The new Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV offers a well-balanced performance and an altogether extensive equipment to beginners in the Micro Four Thirds system who are looking for a very small and light camera. Only minor compromises have to be made to this, such as the resolutions of the viewfinder and monitor or the somewhat lower autofocus performance compared to professional DSLMs...
... In terms of image quality, the E-M10 IV falls short of our expectations. Especially the comparison with the Panasonic G110, which also uses a 20 MP sensor, shows that Olympus does not realise the potential of the sensor as well and has to give way to Panasonic.
