The tripod is equipped with Manfrotto's innovative 494 aluminum ball head, a small but powerful head that ensures fast and precise camera movement. The 494 Ball Head has three independent controls: a main knob to control the ball lock, an independent friction control, and an independent panoramic lock that moves the camera horizontally to enable amazing landscape shots.

The head is equipped with a unique quick release plate that is Manfrotto RC2 and Arca-Swiss compatible. This allows almost all cameras to be mounted quickly and effortlessly without having to dismantle components.
