GTA 6 release date leak: Has the date been set yet?

There have already been plenty ofrumors about the action game GTA 6. But at the latest after the official confirmation last month, it is clear that Rockstar Games is in the middle of developing the new Grand Theft Auto. But when exactly will it be released? A recent leak now provides new material for discussion.
When will GTA 6 be released?
French leaker and insider Chris Klippel recently spoke out on Twitter about the release date and the current status of GTA 6's development. He did not name any concrete sources. Nevertheless, his information will certainly make one or two fans prick up their ears with curiosity.
"Recently, the development of GTA 6 has reached an important milestone. Things should now speed up a bit internally at Rockstar. I expect that a real announcement towards the end of this year is quite possible. However, I don't believe the game will be released before the end of 2024."
How credible is the leak?
It's true that Chris Klippel has definitely been right with his predictions a time or two. Nevertheless, it is important to take a closer look at this statement and its credibility. The forecasts of analyst Doug Creutz from Cowen, for example, go in a somewhat different direction. He had already stated in January of this year that a release of GTA 6 might even be in fiscal year 2024, which corresponds to the period between April 2023 and March 2024.
In addition, there were only recently multiple reports that the development of GTA 6 would currently allegedly run very chaotic. It cannot be ruled out that the situation at Rockstar Games has improved in the meantime. The fact that an important milestone has suddenly been reached seems somewhat contradictory, at least at first.
What is certain is that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive recently made a very public statement about GTA 6. Such a step is usually only taken by developer studios and publishers when a project has reached a certain development status. If the work is really in chaos at the moment, the teams would probably not go so far out on a limb.
