Airpods Max x Gucci: A case for only 900 francs
The Airpods Max usually come in a strange-looking case. Thanks to a Gucci version of the case, the case for the headphones is now not only strange, but also expensive.
The Airpods Max come with a case that is supposed to protect Apple's over-ear headphones from bumps and dust. If you buy a white set of Airpods, the so-called smart case is white; if you treat yourself to the blue ones, it's blue.
Boring, thinks the design label Gucci.
Therefore, the scandal-ridden fashion brand has unceremoniously decided to improve Apple's design. The Gucci Ophidia Smart Case comes in the brand's design: brown, green, red and with the intertwined double-G logo. Cost: 980 dollars, the equivalent of 905 francs. It is not known whether Gucci's case can turn off the Airpods Max. The website does mention that the word "Hodiernum" is printed inside the case, but not whether it supports the only way to put the Airpods into power-saving mode.
Interesting detail on the side: the design of the Ophidia Case strongly reminds us of a handbag, just like the original case. This is no coincidence, since the label, which was founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence, Italy, in 1921, is famous for its handbags and has become a timeless style icon. However, after scandals in the 1980s and 1990s, the family was excluded from the brand and is now part of the luxury group Kering.
