Bird's Eye Chilli Seeds - The fiery spice of Africa in your own garden!

Are you ready for a taste explosion? Then the bird's eye chilli seeds are just the thing for you!

These small but mighty chillies, known as Birds Eye Pepper, originate from Africa and are famous for their extreme heat and unique flavour.

Visually and in growth, the Birds Eye Chilli resembles the Tabasco Chilli. In its main growing areas, especially in Zimbabwe and Malawi, it reaches a considerable height of about 1.20 metres.

In our latitudes, growth is limited, but these small plants still pack a spicy surprise. It takes about 90 days for the pods to ripen and they develop the best flavour in the first 3-4 years.

These tiny fruits are excellent for drying and can be used as a whole pod for Chilli Con Carne or Spaghetti Bolognese.

You can also grind them into flakes or powder them to add a good dose of spiciness to your dishes.

The bird's eye chilli plants need suitable fertiliser from the beginning of May, ideally tomato and pepper fertiliser with a long-term effect.

They love a bright to sunny and warm location. The more sun they get, the better they thrive. Ideally, they should receive about 5 hours of sunlight per day.

Watering should be generous and the water temperature should not be below 14 degrees Celsius.

At night, the temperature should not drop below 12 degrees Celsius. Chilli plants are not only delicious, but also look great in the garden or on the patio, especially when the fruits turn from green to red, yellow or even dark purple in late summer and autumn.

Harvest time is a real feast as you explore the versatile nature of this chilli variety.

So, prepare for culinary adventures and enjoy the fiery spice of Africa with Bird's Eye chilli seeds!
