Question about Campingaz DUPLIKAT gas cartridge CV 470 B/P
Is this cartridge compatible with other burners/systems? It irritates me a bit that there is something about "...only compatible with systems/burner from the same manufacturer..." or something like that but I guess that is just PR and is just as well compatible with all other typical burners/systems? I would need it for my mobile small burner that I use on motlrcycle tours for cooking. Thanks a lot for your help!!! MFG
There are basically 2 systems: valve and screw-in cartridges. The CV valve cartridge is only used by CampinGaz for the smaller mobile gas cookers such as the "Campingaz Twister Plus PZ", all others (Weber, Primus, Coleman) use the screw-in cartridge. The screw-in cartridge is widespread around the world, while the CampinGaz is mainly offered in France and Switzerland. The further north you go, the more likely there are only (predominantly) screw-in cartridges (e.g. Sweden). This is the "valve" cartridge "CV", which can only be used with CampinGaz cookers without an adapter. This adapter converts valve to screw cap, then the cartridge can be used on a screw cooker. I did not find the adapter here on Galaxus, but I did find it, for example, at Transa with the "Kovea" brand.
Oh yes... There are also cartridges from CampinGaz. However, these can only be used with the special piercing cartridge cookers, there are no adapters. Disadvantage: once pierced, the cartridge cannot be removed until it is empty. With the other two systems, it can be removed at any time. I also see a danger of leakage here, I personally find the piercing cartridges scary...
