Aarke Carbonator 3
Aarke Carbonator 3
We've been wanting to replace our old, clunky, ugly SodaStream bubbler for a long time.
The aarke Carbonator 3 is unfortunately a bitter disappointment.
The product looks very nice (subjectively...), but if according to the product description ("forget the plastic bubblers of the past") a high-quality product made of chrome steel is expected, disillusionment is guaranteed. The Carbonator 3 is mostly plastic, only the head, the lever and the nozzle are made of steel. Contrary to the description, NO OTHER BOTTLES ARE COMPATIBLE. Our Sodastream glass carafes have the same thread size, but do not fit due to the rim thickness. If you look closely at the nozzle connector, you can read "Only aarke Pet Bottles". A brazen label fraud.
Let's move on to the price: it is absurdly exorbitant considering the cheap material quality. 70.- Fr. would be probably OK, but 170.- are massively too expensive. Even the oh-so-great Scandinavian design can't make up for that.
Except expenses (7.- return shipping costs) unfortunately been nothing.

I am on the fourth of these carbonators. There is an inherent fault in the models I bought. The O-ring or the inner workings can't seal the air from the CO2 bottles, therefore wasting the CO2 and making a huge mess with the water coming out of every nook and crannies. And no, it's not the canisters because I used Aarke original canisters and others.
