The combination of this coating, two aspherical glass elements, and three "Extra-Low-Dispersion glasses" minimizes chromatic aberrations and prevents unsightly light scattering. The glass construction consists of 13 elements arranged in 12 groups, ensuring sharp images from the center to the edges.

Seven aperture blades create a nearly circular bokeh at wide open aperture, while closing the aperture reveals crystal-clear, star-shaped lights. The lens is compact and robustly built, making it an ideal companion even in rougher conditions.
