Product details
With an open aperture of F1.8, the Samyang 20mm full-frame lens is the perfect companion for astrophotography and landscape photography, ensuring great results even in low light conditions. Additionally, the Samyang 20mm F1.8 ED AS UMC impresses with its ability to isolate subjects. The object in focus is beautifully highlighted, while the background (at wide open aperture) is enveloped in a wonderfully soft bokeh. It is the perfect complement between 16mm and 24mm. This wide-angle lens for full-frame cameras is not only suitable for indoor shots but also for concerts, landscape, and street photography.
Optical Construction
Thanks to years of expertise in lens construction, the development of a 20mm full-frame lens was only a matter of time. The Samyang 20mm F1.8 ED AS UMC is equipped with the best optical technology that Samyang has to offer. The wide-angle lens features Samyang's signature Ultra Multi Coating. The combination of this coating, two aspherical glass elements, and three "Extra-Low-Dispersion glasses" minimizes chromatic aberrations and prevents unsightly light scattering. The glass construction consists of 13 elements arranged in 12 groups, ensuring sharp images from the center to the edges.
Seven aperture blades create a nearly circular bokeh at wide open aperture, while closing the aperture reveals crystal-clear, star-shaped lights. The lens is compact and robustly built, making it an ideal companion even in rougher conditions.
