Speed on Macbook Air M2 (16 RAM) of 2022 of this T7 Shield 2TB in its original state, i.e. in ExFat :
687Mb/s read / 760 write
Speed when formatted in APFS :
702Mb/s read / 840 write
While Samsung announces 1050Mb/s in reading, 1000Mb/s in writing OR thus it reaches at best 70% in reading and 84% in writing and as long as one takes the trouble to format it but for a weak gain and to deprive oneself of a PC+Mac compatibility.
It is therefore not far from a misleading advertisement in my opinion and makes me regret my purchase. If they promise to sell me 1 kilo, yes, I'm clearly complaining if in the end there is a difference of 300g or 30% less.
Good to know: it is possible to reach 1000Mb/sec for 50.- less by composing yourself an external SSD Nvme drive. You can even reach up to 3000Mb/sec for 50.00 more than this T7 and with a guarantee on the chosen SSD generally of 5 years and not 3 years as here.
In the end, I only see its small size, supposedly robustness and waterproofing and it seems that it heats up less than the SanDisk ExtremePro V2 as advantages but that's really about it. Disappointing.

It is better to use the backup software provided by Windows, MacOS and Linux. No problem to restore it.

The SSD would get 6 stars from me - but the new shield housing not only captures dust very well - it also doesn't let go of it. I hope Samsung will soon bring out this SSD in the "classic" case as well.
