... The GX880 has a short shutter lag and can shoot fast series: however, 10 frames/s are only possible with an electronic shutter and without AF tracking. With continuous AF, the camera achieves 5 frames/s. ...

Panasonic has not changed much with its new entry-level model Lumix DC-GX880 (practice). The new DSLM is based on the predecessor model Panasonic Lumix DC-GX800 (review), apart from new beauty functions and the additional grip support on the front, no new features have been added...

- Even in this entry-level class with 4K video and 4K photo functions
- Compact, well-made plastic housing
- Good image quality up to ISO 1,600, with slight reductions even at ISO 3,200
- Very fast autofocus, but relatively long (nevertheless sufficiently fast) shutter release delay
- Puny, low-power flash and no hot shoe
- No built-in sensor-shift image stabiliser, which is now standard in many Lumix G cameras
Top to go: The Panasonic Lumix GX880 fits in almost any jacket pocket and takes high-quality photos and videos - even in low light. The autofocus reacts quickly to individual photos, making the small camera well suited for snapshots.
