The new Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch is a 3D evolution of the classic sandbox style that the series is known for. It is the first game in this genre since Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, which have millions of fans worldwide. In this game, Mario travels through many different and unknown worlds and kingdoms, having left the safe and familiar Mushroom Kingdom. You will traverse photorealistic cities inspired by real life, as well as fantasy realms and mysterious places. Mario journeys through the various worlds in his airship, the Odyssey, from which the game gets its name.
Mario's hat plays a central role in the game, brought to life through personification. A new feature is the ability to throw the hat, which offers many new possibilities in gameplay and opens up the option for cooperative play (multiplayer), where a second player can take control of the hat. Of course, Princess Peach also plays a significant role in Mario Odyssey, as the evil Bowser attempts to marry her. Can Mario stop him?.
