The 2017 edition of the Surface Pro is a powerful yet quiet Windows tablet with a long battery life and a great 3:2 screen. However, to use it as a "versatile laptop" as advertised by Microsoft, you need at least one of the optional input devices, which pushes the already very high acquisition costs even higher.
