So klingen richtig gute Bässe: Der Magnat LZR 980 agierte in den Tiefen druckvoll und sauber, in den Mitten und Höhen klang er sehr klar und detailreich. Die Ohrpolster sind etwas ungewöhnlich geformt, passen sich aber gut der Kopfform an. Auf den Ohren sitzt der Over-Ear-Kopfhörer damit relativ stramm. Magnat legt gleich zwei Kabel bei, eines davon mit Freisprechfunktion und Lautstärke-Tasten.

Grundsätzlich ist der überaus gefällige Kopfhörer gelungen. Der Sound ist insgesamt als gut zu werten, wobei der Bass sauber und präzise spielt und die Mitten ebenfalls überzeugen. Die Höhen patzen nur bei sehr hoher Lautstärke denn dann verlieren sie an Brillanz. Dennoch punktet das Modell mit einem tollen Design und hochwertiger Verarbeitung, die aber noch besser sein könnte...

Im Klangtest siedelt sich der Magnat LZR 980 oberhalb des LZR 765 an. Er spielt eine Tendenz neutraler oder arbeitet Details noch filigraner heraus. Die Basswiedergabe überzeugt, brillante Höhen und eine detaillierte Mittenwiedergabe sorgen für ein sehr lebendiges Klangerlebnis, das einfach nur Spaß macht.
