Product details
M5Core2 is the core device of the second generation in the M5Stack development kit series, which further enhances the features of the original generation of cores. The MCU is an ESP32 model D0WDQ6-V3 and features Xtensa 32-bit 240-MHz LX6 processors with dual cores that can be controlled separately. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are supported by default and include an integrated 16-MB flash and 8-MB PSRAM, a USB Type-C interface for charging, downloading programs, and serial communication, an integrated capacitive 2.0-inch touchscreen, and a built-in vibration motor.
The M5Core2 also includes an integrated RTC module that allows for accurate timing. Power management is handled by an AXP192 power management chip, which can effectively control the power consumption of the base station, and a built-in green LED indicator helps inform the user about the battery status. The battery capacity has been increased to 390 mAh, allowing the core to be powered for much longer than the previous model.
The M5Core2 retains the TF card (microSD) slot and speakers. However, to ensure higher sound quality, the power amplifier chip of the digital audio interface I2S is used to effectively prevent signal distortion. Independent power supply and reset buttons are located on the left side and bottom of the base.
The three symbols on the front of the screen are capacitive buttons that are programmable. On the back of the base, there is a small expansion board with a 6-axis IMU sensor and a microphone. The development platform and programming language supported by M5Stack Core2 are Arduino and UIFlow (with Blockly, MicroPython). Regardless of your development and programming skills, M5Stack helps you gradually turn your ideas into reality.
