Bester Klang. Klingt sauber und ausgewogen, mit guten Höhen und Tiefen. Die Steuerung läuft komplett über die Google-Home-App. Braucht viel Strom. Die Wiedergabe von Musik aus dem Heimnetzwerk ist nur über Drittanbieter-Apps möglich. Stromverbrauch ist vergleichsweise hoch. AGB, Nutzungsbedingungen und die Datenschutzerklärung verstoßen gegen deutsches und europäisches Recht.

Wer den perfekten Sound sucht, ist wahrscheinlich enttäuscht; ansonsten bietet Max eine alltagstaugliche Kombination aus sehr gutem Klang und hoher Sprachintelligenz fürs Heimnetz.
Mit dem Home Max bietet Google endlich einen smarten Lautsprecher, der ordentlich klingt. Vor allem die schön tiefen Bässe sind erfreulich. Für Apple-Vermeider ist er eine gute Alternative, aber es gibt auch in der Google-Welt noch gelungenere Boxen: Der JBL Link 500 klingt etwas besser und kostet 50 Euro weniger.
