Our pre-Christmas order deadlines – the sledge icon is good news

Here’s some important information for all last-minute buyers and panic shoppers. If you want your order to arrive in time for Christmas, keep these deadlines in mind.

At Galaxus, we ship parcels for the EU either from our warehouses in Switzerland or Germany. The distance from these warehouses to your home determines how long the delivery takes. This is particularly important before Christmas, as you’ll want your presents to arrive on time. Here’s an overview of the order deadlines in each country we ship to.

Austria

If it says «in stock» on the product, it’ll arrive in time for Christmas Eve if you place the order before 18 December at 1 p.m.

For bulky goods, i.e. anything heavier than 31.5 kg and up to 200 cm long, the order deadline is 16 December at 1 p.m.

Italy

If it says «in stock» on the product, it’ll arrive in time for Christmas Eve if you place the order before 16 December at 1 p.m.

For bulky goods, i.e. anything heavier than 31.5 kg and up to 200 cm long, the order deadline is 14 December at 1 p.m.

France

If it says «in stock» on the product, it’ll arrive in time for Christmas Eve if you place the order before 18 December at 1 p.m.

For bulky goods, i.e. anything heavier than 31.5 kg and up to 200 cm long, the order deadline is 16 December at 1 p.m.

Netherlands

If it says «in stock» on the product, it will arrive in time for Christmas Eve if you place the order before 19 December at 1 p.m.

For bulky goods, i.e. anything heavier than 31.5 kg and up to 200 cm long, the order deadline is 17 December at 1 p.m.

Belgium

If it says «in stock» on the product, it’ll arrive in time for Christmas Eve if you place the order before 19 December at 1 p.m.

For bulky goods, i.e. anything heavier than 31.5 kg and up to 200 cm long, the order deadline is 17 December at 1 p.m.

Which products are «in stock»?

There are two ways to find products that are in stock at our own warehouses. Working alongside our logistics partners, we’re fairly certain we can get these products to you on time.

  1. The first way is to use the filter function. Just select «Offers», then «Products in stock». This’ll display all the relevant products.
  2. Alternatively, keep an eye out for the sledge icon, which appears on products that are guaranteed to be delivered before Christmas. In other words, if there’s no sledge icon, we can’t promise you’ll get your order on time. This is especially important from 21 December onwards – the sledge icon will be removed then, and only the typical delivery time displayed. While a product may be marked with «delivery tomorrow», the high volume of parcels means your order could actually get stuck in the warehouse and only arrive at your home after Christmas.

When it’s too late for anything else: vouchers

Missed all the deadlines? Are you at your wit’s end, having lost all trust in everyone and everything? Worry not – we have your saving grace: digital vouchers for Digitec or Galaxus! You’ll even be able to gift this digital ticket to retail therapy by text message. All you need to do is forward the voucher code. Or you can invest a little more time and affection, print out the voucher and put it in an envelope you’ve decorated yourself. That probably looks a bit more impressive. You can select the value of the voucher: anything from 10 to 500 euro is possible.

My career as a journalist began back when printing presses were still a thing. Writing pieces for a publication aimed at breeders of small animals was my first steppingstone. Several years later, I got a call from headquarters. I was put in charge of several digitisation projects and establishing audience management strategies for regional newspapers and the NZZ. I’ve been with Digitec Galaxus since 2020, writing articles whenever I get the chance. As I have semi-superficial knowledge of many things, my spectrum of topics is quite broad.
